Thames Valley and Wessex Radiotherapy ODN consists of five NHS radiotherapy service providers (including satellite centres):
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) which also hosts the Network infrastructure
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU)
Royal Berkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBH)
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation (UHD)
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS)
The Radiotherapy ODN aims to improve the quality and experience of radiotherapy through five specific objectives:
Improve access to modern, advanced, and innovative radiotherapy techniques;
Improve the experience of care (through tumour specific subspecialist care teams);
Increase patient participation in research and clinical trials;
Reduce variation in quality by adopting best practice protocols and reducing morbidity;
Reduce variation in equipment utilisation.
The ODN works closely with Thames Valley Cancer Alliance, Wessex Cancer Alliance to improve care pathways.
The on-going development of the ODN including preparation and subsequently delivery of the annual work programme approved by the constituent providers, the Cancer Alliances, and the NHS Specialised Commission Team.
